Greens and Olive with Nyx The Runway Collection In Secret World
Hey girls I have added a new eyeshadow palette to my eyeshadow collection and I’m super excited.
Ta dah! NYX 10 color eyeshadow palette from The Runway Collection in Secret World. A super nice palette that consists of different shades of greens, golds and oranges.
This pallet reminds someone of that first falling leaf that marks the end of summer and the start of autumn. How I wish its so true here as well.
These colors are pigmented and rich, and the application is very smooth. I also love how the shadows looked on my lids. I'm sure that the finish is just the same as most high-end eyeshadows over, well, a really good eyeshadow base.
Swatch this! ^_^
1-Creamy yellow neutral with small flecks of glitter
2- Golden tan frosty -creamy texture
3-Soft peachy frost
4-Muted Orange frosty-satin
5-Reddish brown-satin
Bottom Row: L-R
1-Fresh Spring green-satin
2-Dark muted forest green-Frosty
3-Lime Green-Frosty
4-Forest Green- Satin-matte
5-Light fresh white green
All in all, the shades got shimmers or are pearl like, some may have glitters in them (more of a hint of glitters in them). As I have said above, they are really pigmented and creamy. They are easy to apply as well, it took me one swipe to do the swatch and you won't be sorry with the light shades along with the neutral ones and they have colors to share themselves.
What to like:
- Pigmentation - these palette are great!
-Price- great sheer variety you get in one little palette AND they are not knockout
-Buildable - colours are buildable if you want a stronger look and a lot better than than most drugstore level brands have to offer in terms of variety.
-dupe for Kat Von D's True Romance Palette in Ludwig (uhm, I think the shades are similar)
What not to like:
-not available locally!!
- if you're not into greens, this is not for you
Overall, this a great palette with 10 complimenting shades of greens, olives and neutrals ^_^ Definitely a go to palette ^_^
cheerio

Kat Von D- Beethoven
I'm so happy that I got my palettes today!!
First up is the True Romance Eyeshadow Palette - Beethoven
I have a little secret. I am not a fan of blues and purples until I have set my eyes on Kat von D eyeshadow palette in Beethoven.
What it says:
A smoky eye adds an instant air of mystery—create your own with the True Romance Eyeshadow Palette. Designed by reality television star Kat Von D especially for Sephora, this artistic spectrum of shades brings an edgy-glam creativity to your makeup. The sleek black eyeshadow palette is stenciled with silver roses and arrives packaged in a silk-screened black and silver box that is itself a work of art—and inspired by Kat's favorite tattoo.
Most of us probably didn't have any idea who is Kat Von D. I myself got no clue who she was until I googled her name. Also, what most of us don't realize is that all the Kat von D makeup and tools are actually Sephora Brand – Kat is supposedly involved in the colors & packaging design. I don’t have anything else Sephora brand, this is my first from them and Im loving it! Well, I fell at first swatch! ^_^
Another thing I love about this, is the DETAIL. On her interview she admitted that these makeup lines are her artwork, just like her tattoos, so she worked hard to make them as detailed and presentable as she could. Just check out these pictures.
First off, the packaging of these palettes is gorgeous. The palette comes in a chic tattoo-designed boxes....
And when you open the box,
See how the box opens like a gift? A unique way of packaging isnt it? The palette is wrapped in tissue paper.
The palette is wrapped in a dark paper that has I think with a little rose tattoo sticker. The actual palette itself is quite beautiful.
The cover is matte and yeah Im sure it does attract powders but then again its not a bother for me. Likewise, the palette is very sturdy and snaps closed well. ^_^
Isnt it amazing how much details is in her palette? It's like the palette itself is a work of art! I'm so keeping the boxes! hahahahaha!!
Now for whats inside!
Beethoven has 8 eyeshadow shades of predominantly cool tones. Half are blues and half are purples. I would have thought that green toned Ludwig would be my choice for this line but I got the Nyx Secret World in place of that. But I’m glad I went outside my comfort zone and got Beethoven because the colours are pigmented and gorgeous.
The colors do look common right? But check out Lucifer on the far left side, its so matte and dark that it blends in the palette's borders!Leather is a matte color as well. Gelano is the middle name of Kat's mom ^_^
Swatch time ^_^
Beethoven is a cooler tone palette that could just work on any skin tone.
from Sephora website:
The Beethoven palette contains the shades:
- Lucifer (matte charcoal black)
- Speed Blue (dark metalic blue)
- Razor Gray (warm gun steel shimmer)
- Tequila (metallic cornsilk shimmer)
- Galeano (metallic medium plum shimmer)
- Sinner (metallic purple black shimmer)
- Rad Purple (matte purple black with purple glitter)
- Leather (matte dark brown)
- Two doubled-ended applicator brushes
Another look at the swatch with names watermarked!! weeeh!!!
(my friend was only able to do one editing =( )
Texture wise, the colours are lovely. They are smooth and very very pigmented. They are so pigmented, that its better to use a brush to apply these colours because they can look a bit patchy if used with fingers. I realized this when I swatched them and applied on my lids to test.
A word of advise though, dont go for this paleete if you dont like strong colours, you will not like this palette because its easy to overdo it if you aren’t careful. Brusges are the way to go ^_^ The brushes in the palette are pathetic they do nothing but I realized they could be used for for lining
What I like:
- Lovely pigmented shades, vibrant and bold colors
- smooth texture and easy to blend
- ADORABLE packaging
- excellent mix of highlighter, lining base and colour shades
What I dont like:
- unavailable locally
-some may find it expensive (PhP 2100 -including taxes and shipping, $34 in Sephora)
- easy to overdo ;)
- two double-ended mini brushes that come with it are so so
Just this for now, this are my initial thoughts on the product ^_^
YOu can get your hands on this baby through carefree shopper and she has pre-orders for Sephora products every month and low tax/shipping rates!! Dont you just love it? :D
Till here!

Ever heard of St. Dalfour Cream?
Have you ever heard of St. Dalfour cream? It claims:
ST. DALFOUR CREAM is guaranteed and proven to be effective in removing pimple scars, skin allergy scars, dark spots, freckles, blackheads, wrinkles, and all other skin blemishes and impurities. It effectively whitens skin giving you a clearer, fairer, healthier and more beautiful glowing skin.
No harmful ingredients. NO MERCURY, NO BLEACH, NO HYDROQUINONE. It’s made up of Natural/Organic Ingredients that can be found in the countries of Middle East. This product is authentically made and imported from Kuwait. 100% Effective!

St. Dalfour Cream users enjoy excellent beauty experience. In fact, after their first applications in the night time, they immediately feel and see the amazing results of smoother, whiter and glowing skin the following morning.
I was in Abu Dhabi visiting my sister when someone sent me a message via faceebook that they are selling authentic St. Dalfour Creams. Since it was summer when I was in AUH, my skin started to darken (mainly because I refuse to wear sunscreen any given day there). Thus, I started to get worried how my knees remained dark even after I got my natural skin color back. And when the message came, it was like the answer to my prayers! A whitening product that promises results! and I didn't realize how effective it really was till later.
I'm not after white skin, just an even skin tone ^_^
Long story short, here's my take on the product.
My cream was the beige one and blue cap (yeah, just day if u wish the blue cap or white cap!). And it was only a week after I got my goodie that St. Dalfour isn't really a cream but a brand name for jams and jelly! No wonder it sounds familiar, we used to have St Dalfour sweets on our dear old ref!
The cream looks beige and is really, really, really oily!! It looks I have used half of its contents, I just took some and placed it in another container to avoid contamination..Im using it 3-5 consecutive days, then resume again after 12-15 days.
So does it really work?? I was scared of using it on my face after having read some of its side effects, so I tried it on my knees and feet.It really does work! My knees is blending hahahaha! and my feet, pardon my feet ;) , well, AMAZING!
Before. Ugly, dark and pronounced lines
5 Days after. More even skin and ugly spot almost gone!
BUT!!!!!
Isnt it a wonder just how effective this is? Results are really fast and they beat those products coming from dermas I tried asking for creams to make the ugly spot in my feet disappear. If I may say, as much as this product is a wonder (has been around since 2007 or 2008) and love its effect on my poor feet, I am not recommending this to anyone who wants a flawless skin.
What not to like?
- The product uses old and used bottles of ST. Dalfour
- The concoction of the product differs with each supplier and seller.
- The concoctions say it has a special ingredient, am I hearing MERCURY
- Prolonged usage (2-3 years of veryday use) leads to an extremely sensitive face beyond help
- Smell? (uhm I for one love its smell, but those who hates musk and woody scent will hate this)
- Either too expensive or too cheap price
- No assurance if the product is ORIGINAL
- Not BFAD approved
- Can cause serious, really serious allergic reactions to the face
- Claims to have come from Kuwait but when I tried asking friends in Kuwait, its so unheard of!
The list goes on for some people I Know...
Then again, What I like: I love its scent and the fact you can results ASAP
However, once Im done with this bottle, Im not purchasing it. Im going back to scrubbing, exfoliating and moisturizing my skin to get that even skin tone ^_^
How about you? Have you tried this? or want to try this?
I'm not telling anyone not to try this or hate this, Im just sharing my thought on this one ;)

Eyeshadow Palettes
I can't wait for this Tuesday when I will finally be getting my hands on 2 eyeshadow palettes!! Yeah, I'm getting addicted to eyeshadows and but then I'm the type who's too lazy pick out single eyeshadow and spend a lot of time in the mall or online looking for such. So, yeah, I'm a palette fan.
First up, Nyx The Runway Collection in Secret World
First up, Nyx The Runway Collection in Secret World
Pretty much after lots of reading reviews and checking swatches, I decided to buy this.. I got this from carefreeshopper and she has like lots of Nyx goodies ^_^.
This palette is a nice collection of greens and neutrals.
and of course, Kat Von D True Romance Eyeshadow Palette-Beethoven
This is a Sephora exclusive as you could see in the picture above.
This is a nice collection of purples and blues.
Kat Von D also has limited edition palettes but there is a downside though,
so I decided to play safe with this palette.
I had to wait for a while but I know it will be so worth it! ^_^
I will be getting my hands on these two this Tuesday! I'm so excited ;) And not to mention, carefreeshopper has got a new batch of Nyx round lipsticks! Oooh, I'm getting addicted to Nyx! I just love their lippies!
Well till here..
Will be doing a swatch of this soon
Cheerio! ^_^

Nyx Runway Collection in Romance
This is my is my first review of one of the products I have.
So here goes!
Let me introduce you to Nyx Runway Collection in Romance. Sad to day, before I purchased this palette, there is not much review about this product, and I took the risk of buying it and I sure got lucky! I super love this!!
NYX products are not sold locally and must be purchased online thru online sellers, but I got mine from an online seller who's based in my hometown! Isnt that great? I saved on shipping! Yippeee!
It is a 10-color eye shadow palette in hues of bronzes and browns. The top part shades have somewhat kind of slighty chunky glitters which I don't mind at all. The rest are shimmery. ^_^
They are quite pigmented and stay all day on my eyelids!!
Sorry for the not so good pics, Im using my mobile to take the pics.. But in person, the colors are pretty ^_^
Swatch time!!
Swatch of the Top Shades: L-R: Cant say which family this belongs to but it includes: white (chalky, most useless!), medium brown, pink (my fave!), dark brown-black and lightest brown.
Kinda hard to know the exact name of the shades as they don't have any labels at the back. Would have been nice if they did.
Well, I have been using them for the past few days. Texture and colour payoff wise, I would say the quality is quite impressive. Their frost or satin textures are great. They aren't glittery, or chunky, uhm except for one colour that is a little too powdery. But overall, the texture is easy to work with in terms of application and blending.
Basically, its just your usually neutral eyeshadow palette. And this palette is very much suited to warm or olive tones ^_^
Likes:
-pigmented
-cheap (PhP 470 )
-great quality
Dislikes:
- not available locally
-brushes that come with it are so-so
Overall, this is a great catch with 10 eyeshadows complimenting each other. Just don;t expect that this is as good as MAC and other high end products though. But for its price, its defnitely a steal!!! The colors stay true to shade!
Hope you find this helpful ^_^

w/o flash
Swatch of with the bottom shades: L-R - mostly copper and bronze family with the last e/s shade light yellow to gold and is my fave from the group. This my highlighter ^_^ and to be fair, its one of the nicest highlighter for the browbone I have seen. Swatch of the Top Shades: L-R: Cant say which family this belongs to but it includes: white (chalky, most useless!), medium brown, pink (my fave!), dark brown-black and lightest brown.
